Art 490 - Reviewing Peer Websites
Carole Page - https://carolepage8.com/
Strengths:
+ Every tab is clear on what it does making it very easy to navigate.
+ The colors utilized for the website is easy on the eyes and very clean
+ The elevator pitch being underlined helps create a nice focus on the About page
Suggestions:
- Everything on the website seems to be flush left and it’s a little off-putting. For body text it makes sense but it feels weird to have all of the content to the left. Try centering some pieces or dividing them into columns to compress and create more space
- On the “About” page you refer to yourself as a traditional artist but the website is solely centered on Animation. I think it would help to add a few of those traditional pieces or rewrite your underlined section to keep the focus on Animation instead.
- Try using another font in your website or shapes to help break up sections. Specifically in the Blog Post area while each section is split by the bold giant text it still feels like a giant mash of one post instead of a bunch of separate posts.

Juhyeong Kim - https://www.jkimportfolio.com/
Strengths:
+ That logo on the home page is stunning, really helps emphasize the graphic design aspect
+ Using a mix of Serif and Sans Serif fonts helps give a nice clean and professional look to the website
+ The little animations plus the animated background while scrolling helps gives the website a second feel of nice depth
Suggestions:
- Dividing the Portfolio into Illustration and Graphic Design is nice, but the boxes are a little misleading to viewers in how they can interact with it. It feels clickable but it isn’t, so possibly alter that or put more body text if you can make it clickable.
- The categories feel a bit odd, having one named “Portfolio” and another named “Project” could be interpreted as the same thing. It may be better to rename one of them, or add a few more tabs like designating Illustration and Graphic Design to their own tabs
- Your logo on the home page has a blue in it that I wish was utilized a little more throughout the website, just to make it more cohesive and connect it back to you some more.

Alexis Aguilar - https://www.aguilar02.com/
Strengths:
+ The top bar with all the separate tabs are really well organized and straightforward
+ The theme of travelling through your various works like a little village is a cute touch and gives the website plenty of character!
+ The main image on the home page is really dynamic and eye catching, makes me want to explore more
Suggestions:
- Your website could definitely benefit to using one more font, maybe a sans serif for the body text? When reading the about page I think the font utilized to write your statements and descriptions are a little too loud and makes it accidentally overwhelming
- “Test Page” is a very weirdly formatted page in comparison to everything else. Just needs a bit of a clean-up to it.
- While all the images are clickable with more body text, I don’t think it’s clear enough to the viewer that it is. Maybe add a color border to each image box to help tempt the viewer a bit more.

Isaac Lee/Mototear - https://mototearart.com/
Strengths:
+ That home page is lovely, I love the little images used to display little previews of what can be found on the page alongside the slideshow behind the name at the top.
+ The descriptions written for each piece helps add a lot of context for readers to get a better feel of the artwork
+ The self illustration on the about page is really cute and a great way to show you’re in animation, as well as the PC setup as the backdrop!
Suggestions:
- Maybe alter “Character Design” to something more fitting like “Production/Pre-Production” if one of the other pieces displayed is more of a furniture piece than character design itself. The piece has alot of character but I don’t think it comfortably fits in character design.
- For the “about” and “contact” page try to add a low opacity overlay over the image and the white bar on your tabs to help keep it consistent throughout the website
- Try to add more of a color theme throughout the website, to help differentiate it a little more. Your “contacts” page shows signs of it with the colored font for CONTACTS instead of the white used for everything else.
